Not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This page describes what the software actually does with your data. Our students are based in the United States, so before launch this must be reviewed against COPPA (the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and applicable state student-privacy laws by a qualified person.

What we collect

About the student: name, date of birth, school and class, and the work they upload.
About the parent or guardian: name, email address and phone numbers.
Consent records: which document you agreed to, its version, when, and the IP address used.
Technical records needed to keep accounts safe: sign-in times, IP addresses and browser type.

Why we collect it

To run classes, take attendance, assess work, issue invoices, and contact you about your child's learning. We do not use children's data for advertising, we do not profile children for marketing, and we do not sell data to anyone.

Who can see a child's data

A student's date of birth, contact details and any medical notes are visible only to administrators and to the teacher assigned to that student. Other students can never see them. Students cannot message each other on this portal at all.

Media consent

Permission to photograph or record your child is asked separately and is optional. Refusing it does not affect your child's place in a class. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hello@newagecoders.com.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your child's data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@newagecoders.com and we will respond within 30 days. Some records - invoices in particular - must be retained for tax purposes even after an account is closed.
